Delta Bay Impact

A youth mentorship who needed their web presence to better reflect their work. We built a site that showcased the youth at their best, thriving in a program that represented their own identity.

The situation

The work was real. The website wasn't showing it.

Delta Bay Impact has been mentoring African-American students in Contra Costa County schools since 2023 — in-school programming, family engagement, community events. Their existing site couldn't communicate that range. There was no visual evidence of the impact, the structure didn't make the services clear, and visitors who wanted to help had no obvious way in.

What we did

We went to the assemblies and photographed the work.

Content strategy & architecture

Restructured the site around what visitors actually need to know: what DBI does, who it serves, and how to get involved.

Documentary photography

Five school assembly programs shot on location — including Black History Month events at Riverview Middle School and Meadow Homes Elementary — plus team and staff portraits.

Visual brand development

Built on the bold, forward-looking identity DBI already had rather than replacing it.

Build & integrations

UI components, third-party integrations, and a curated library of 15–20 hero images alongside archival photography.

Where it landed

A site built out of its own evidence.

From first strategy conversations in January 2026 to the staff walkthrough in March, the work moved from planning to photography to build. The site now carries DBI's full range of services with real images of the programs behind them, and clear paths for donors, volunteers, and school partners to act on what they see.

Damon found in 30 minutes what two other people missed for months. We acted on it that week.
